R.T.'s Story
Life
After high school, I attended EWU in Cheney (met some of you there) and then I tranferred to San Jose State University in California. I spent a little time on active duty and the reserves as a Lieutenant in the Army in the Transportation Corps. I was in a heavy boat company. I ended up a going to Japan to teach for a short time in high schools and am now working teaching English and American Studies at a university in Japan. I have been in Japan for 14 years and am Permanent Resident, but will likely come back to the US someday.
School
Does anyone remember Journalism and the goofing off we all did there while producing The Chieftan. Did you know that the name Jacques is actually 2 syllables? Then there was Philosopy (2 years)and ...Expand for more
debate with Mr. Robertson (not forgetting Mr. Hammond--"Kill" is our motto), German with Mr. Uhlenkott and Christmas caroling (O Du Froeliche!) and the Lynch that stole graduation...loved by all. BoB the band! Paul, Dale, Dan and me. Does anyone in select choir remember what #17 was? I still carry a scar from Nicholas Nicholby. Is Chico's still good? I STILL miss the students from Yamate Gakuin who came to visit us when we were juniors. That was part of the reason I'm in Japan. But, I was able to visit that school in Yokohama once and was even asked to work there at one point. The inspiration of Paul Simon, Young Life, CCD and singing in the quoir at church when I wasn't being an acolyte. Spread FRED to all -- still playing the drums! 867-5309
