Brad's Story
Life
I've resided in Sacramento, CA since
1985, having also lived in Florida and
Texas. (3 & 5 years respectively). After
25+ years of searching, I finally gave
up looking for a clone of the girl that
broke my heart and married my wonderful
wife Lisa in July of '95. (No blue
eyes, no blonde hair, BUT the VERY BEST
THING that has ever happened to me!)
She is also the world's greatest Mom to
our 5 VERY active and rambunctious children (4 boys & FINALLY our Princess-Daughter)ranging in age from 11 to our 2.5 year old girl.
For 9 years I worked as a marketing/training rep for several computer hardware and software related
firms. (IBM, 3Com, AMD, Logitech, NEC, etc.)
All companies and products I believed in, BUT
the nature of the work was such that it
required me to work EVERY weekend, thus
miss attending Church with the family on Sunday and key opportunities on Saturday's to interface with our kids.
Because of the downturn in my industry and the schedule that kept me away from my family, I went back to college and am now in the Commercial Finance & Real Estate Development field, an industry which has its own unique set of challenges and frustrations. However the people I work with are very family-friendly and encourage us to invest in our marriages and children.
Prior to 'Team Demolition' (our 4 boys) and Alyssa-Jean,
my hobbies/interest were shooting, hunting, bass
fishing, snow skiing, karate, guitar, ...Expand for more
jazz/rock music, and 35mm photography.
(Rarely any time, money or ENERGY for
the above because of job demands, financial struggles, and the challenges of dealing with 2 special-needs children (1 Autistic, and the other Bi-Polar),
but we know the rewards to our character are eternal and lasting in their nature.)
I still have the majority of my hair, BUT it's transitioned from Chestnut Brown, to Gray, to White!!
Unfortunately, I DO NOT still have the waistline I did during my FHS days! Lisa is a fabulous cook, and my
waistline shows it. If I can get her to kick my tail into gear (she has a black belt in Karate, so it should't be too difficult!) and get me back into a
regular exercise regimen, then I can loose 40 pounds, and thus not be too embarrassed to show up at our next reunion!
My 'Passions' (sans my hobbies) are 1)Constitutionally-Based government that is void of 'historical-revisionism', and 2),A desire to see the family and marriages THRIVE in the midst of a culture that mocks marriage and the value and rewards of investing long-term in the lives of our kids and our respective spouses.
I'd love to hear from many of the 'old' FHS gang out there and discover what YOUR passions are, and what's going on in your respective lives, both the victories as well as the setbacks and frustrations, that confront us head-on in this thing called 'Life'.
The Lord's Richest Blessings to all of you!!
