Roland's Story
Life
After graduation from Millville High School, I entered the US COAST GUARD. I served from 1967 to 1971, at Sandy Hook Group Office and Sandy Hook Station, Ft. Hancock, NJ. I married Kathy Blew in 1970. After my dishcharge from the Coast Guard, I returned home to the Millville area, and began working in the Construction business. I have been self-employed for most of these years, but from time to time have worked as a Construction Superintendent for various builders and institutions. t still work part time as a Certified Concrete Tester, and I also pick up and deliver aircraft engines for a local engine rebuilder. I still like being on the job sites and spending time with the construction crews.
Kathy and I have 1 son, Ryan. On 5 January 2007, Ryan and his wife Michele had twin boys. In July 2014, our son Ryan and his wife Michele had another son, Dylan. Kathy is the Administrative Assistant for Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital. Kathy and I enjoy time with our grandson's (Ryder, Riley and Dylan), dining out, traveling and our family and friends. Kathy and I have a new home just outside Bloomsburg.
