Rollie's Story
Life
After graduating from UCLA, went into the computer industry - career evolved from technical, to managing, to marketing, then sales. Essentially retired in 1992, but now do an occasional mortgage for my friends. Married right after college, two kids (two grandchildren). Divorced after 15 years, and remarried to Jill in 1980 - just had our 25th. Have been very active in Dem politics - local, state, and national. Have been very active in a number of community organizations in addition to politics (classify myself as a fiscal conservative and social liberal) and church (Unitarian). Played lots of team sports 'til mid-50's, but now limit myself to chess, bridge, golf, skiing, and occasional table tennis (probably my best sport). The property nestles up against the Massanutten Mountain, and the home is a completely restored 1840 Federal-styled structure with an attached apartment. I spend a lot of time there mowing, bush-hogging, and weed-eating. It is a perfect get-away and is only about 65 miles from our home.
My mom just passed away, and I spent three weeks up in No Calif with my brother Paul, sorting through the remnants of her life. This life event has had a real impact on me, and I have been spending a lot of time going through my old files and trying to make some sense of it. I think back on my life, which often includes the time in Rosemead, with very fond recollections of a whole bunch of wonderful people. Her passing is the catalyst to take the time now to update those of you that may be interested in my life. I'm looking forward to our 50th reunion next year and seeing again many of you.
