Ron's Story
Life
To whomever may be interested; Here's my story in a nut shell: After my experience at L.J. I went on to Oakton H.S. and somehow managed to graduate with the class of 1973. L.J. was such a wonderful time but Oakton was a bit shaky although I did get through it and since, life has offered me more than I could have ever hoped for.
It proves to me what a lot of work and a little maturity can do. In the real world I went to work for several electronic companies in the N. Va. area and met my wonderful wife Denise in 1975 and we married in 1978. Our son Ryan was born in 1981 and also in 1981 I landed a job as a quality control inspector at IBM in Manassas. We moved from our townhome in Centreville to a house in Chantilly and in 1984 my daughter Brenna was born. In 1988 we moved into a new home in the Oak Hill area. I was able to move up through the ranks within the quality organization and in 1992 IBM closed the Manassas site. I was able to transfer to IBM in Austin Tx. and IBM moved my family where we bought a home in Round Rock Tx. It took a while for us to settle in and get over our home sickness. We truly missed our family and life long friends since both my wife and I were born and raised in Fairfax. After 6 years in Austin we...Expand for more
decided to try and return to the east coast. I landed a position in manufacturing at IBM in Raleigh NC and after a few years worked my way into Server development as a development technician and have been working within this organization since 2000.
My son is now 27 years old and living in Wilmington NC. He works as a sales rep. for ADP and is also a serious musician playing drums in a rock band called 4th and Dock and is hoping to get a recording contract very soon. My daughter is now 25 years old and lives here in Cary NC. She bought her first home last year and works full time and goes to school part time. Brenna also just fell in love with her new Saturn Sky and is on top of the world.
My wife and I have been very happily married for 29 years and still counting. Now that the kids are on their own the two of us stay busy with our jobs as well as managing our rental properties. My wife also paints murals for hire and is very good. My whole life I have played drums in various types of bands and since moving to NC I have been playing drums in a classic rock band. Our band is called The Trailers.
That's were we've been and still going strong. Hope I can meet up with some of you some day.
...Live well, Love much, Laugh often...
