Ron's Story

After high school I attended Florida Southern College and graduated in 1984 with a BS in Biology. The day before graduation, I got married to Brenda (Bell) and have been happily married for almost 25 years now. I spent 12 years in the Army as a chemical officer, during which time I was stationed in Germany, Alabama, Louisiana and Georgia. While on actived duty I completed two MS degrees, one in Biology Education (Troy State in AL) and the other in Bio-Analytical Chemistry (Georgia Tech). During that time we also had our two sons, Keith and Joshua. In 1996 I left active duty and began a college teaching career. I now live in Oak Ridge, TN where I am a biology professor at Pellissippi Sta...Expand for more
te Community College. I am the lead instructor for human anatomy and physiology. Lisa Hezzell (Walker)(Class of 80) also teaches at this school. Sometime this year I will complete my dissertation and earn my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. My two sons are now grown and my oldest son (Keith) recently completed his 4 year enlistment in the Marines. Keith served two tours as an infantry man in Iraq, earning a Purple Heart in the process. Keith and his wife now live here in TN and they recently had their first daughter, Madlynne Jolee. My youngest son (Joshua) joined the Army and recently completed his first tour of duty in Iraq, also as an Infantryman. He is now stationed in Hawaii.
