Ron's Story
I'd like to see a class reunion at my high school, Northmont, class of 1970 and college, Adams State College, class of 1975, or "close to" years.
My story? Graduated ASC 1975, History Major, Industrial Arts minor. Went to CU Boulder 1975-77 for masters in Classics, but gpa dropped below 3.0 and had to quit (tough standards!). Too much time playing at the gym!
Worked for Kmart management 1977 to 1981 in Colorado, Idaho, California. Started insurance adjusting in 1981 with Farmers Insurance. Became self employed in 1989 as an "independent adjuster" working for many insurance companies. Became a "public claims adjuster" in 1995 working against insurers. Doing that since. Published a "self help" website for consumers seeking help with insurance claims - UClaim.com (check it out).
Hobbies - Jogging every day, "old man" gymnastics three days a week, jetskiis (trick riding on standups and "sitdown" pleasure riding) in the summer, Karaoke and "air guitar".
Favorite travel - my jetskii trips to Laughlin and Lake Havisu City. Take one big trip a year somewhere out...Expand for more
of the country. Best "big trip"- China. Love cruise and river boat tour groups, so email me if you want to be kept up on upcomming trips. How about a reunion on a cruise boat?
Favorite TV shows - Survivor and Apprentice.
Favorite movies - Action adventure, horror and Grade B movies, Quinten Tarrentino stuff like "Kill Bill". (What can I say, I'm a low class kind a guy with a classical education :).
Pets - two golden retrievers, the closest thing to kids I ever had.
Home - lived in central california since 1979. Married Sue in 1980. Built our own house on 20 acres in the footills in 1984. Couldn't find a bank to make a construction loan (too much land), so we ran up 20k in credit cards for materials, had the house framed in and closed in and plywood roof in 30 days and moved out of our apartment into the house. Sue cooked on a coleman camp stove and we took showers outside with a garden hose! Within a year the house was finished and now, of course, the banks were willing to refinance.
Life problems - same as everyones, nothing worth talking about there.
