Ron's Story

After LPHS, I moved to Montreal Canada for a few years. When I returned to Michigan, I enrolled at WCCC and then transferred to U of M. I stayed there for approximately 5 years, earning a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree. Then, I took a research position at the Homer Hoyt Institute in Florida, where I remain to this day. In 1996, I married my wife, Jeanne Takeda, and returned to Michigan to finish up my Ph.D. in Urban Technological and Environmental Planning. We moved back to Florida in 1998, and live in Palm Beach Gardens. We have two children, Taylor born in 2006 and Michael born in 2008, both of whom we adopted at birth. he kids love their PaPa. I am sure that many folks lead more exciting lives, but we are pretty happy. I collect pinball machines and arcade games and my collection ranges from 1949 to 2004. I have mostly pinball, but also some video, a claw machine and a few skeeballs. The whole family enjoys playing various games, and my daughter is a wiz on the crane games. Mike is still a little young for the games, but he likes rolling skeeballs around the room on the floor. I run the Homer Hoyt Institute and various affiliated organizations. Much of my time is spent in the field of commercial real estate, where I provide asset management, strategic counsel and valuation services, particularly for complex assets and securities. My wife is a senior administrator at a local university. Not sure it is of much interest to anyone, but that's my story. Ron So, tha
