Ron's Story

Life After graduating in 1994 I went to Ft. McClellan, Alabama to attend basic training for the Army. By January 1995 I was in Camp Casey,South Korea defending the border (I stepped across the border into North Korea) and going to school at the University of Maryland Asian Division. In January 1996 I transferred to Baumholder, Germany where I managed the NBC (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) program for 3/12 and 1/6 Infantry Battalion, taught classes, and attended the University of Maryland European Division. In Europe I traveled to France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Britain, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Vatican City, and Italy. r A Battery 6/27 Field Artillery and attended Cameron University. I didn't do much in Oklahoma except have a beer with Willie Nelson, meet Trisha Yearwood, and roast in 120 degree weather. Upon getting promoted to Staff Sergeant (E6) and attending the Army Recruiting school in 2000, I transferred to San Francisco as a recruiter. In May 2003 I got married to Sherri Quinn and in May 2004 we welcomed the birth of my daughter, Kathryn. In June 2007, we welcomed the birth of our second daughter, Katie. I graduated San Francisco State University in January 2009 with two bachelors degrees, and subsequently attended Army Officer Candidate School in 2010. In January 2011, we welcomed the birth of our third daughter, Sabrina. I am currently a graduate student, and seeking a career in logistics.
