Ron's Story
I was born in Prescott Arizona, moved to Scottsdale Arizona in 1957. I attended Tonalea elementry and Coronado
HS., class of 1966. I was a Arizona Republic paperboy for 7 years, and played football and baseball at Coronado. I went to the University of New Mexico on a full NCAA baseball scholarship and lettered for 3 years at UNM. I was blessed to play on a college All Star team that toured the Orient in 1969. I served in the Young Life Ministry for 3 years, while in college I graduated from UNM in August of 1970, with a degree in Secondary Education and minors in Speech and English.
I continued to live in Albuquerque, I worked as a security sales agent and coached high school baseball for two years. I was hired by my good friend (Lenny Carity's) father to manage wholesale and retail sales for a glass company. I worked in the glass industry for the next 20 years. I took a 3 year break to sell Insurance and securities for New England Mutual Ins Co..I finished my working career with 22 years in the remodeling business in New Mexico and Arizona.
I was married in 1972 to Aurelia Rogers and we were married for almost 20 years. We had 4 children who are the love of my life. Silas, Hannah Tabitha and Jesse. Aurelia was a wonderful woman, mother and wife. I was not the best husband and we went through some very difficult times before she called it over. We remain good friends today and see each other around our children's lives. I remarried in 96 to Susan Scott and we were married for 2 years. I remarried in 2013 to Claudi...Expand for more
a Taylor , we were both retired and added two girls/women to my family with 3 more grand children.. We love spending time with our grand kids, travelling around New Mexico, Texas and around the United States, Claudia has a mom (93) who lives in Dallas and two sisters in Texas and we have a wonderful time visiting them. I have a son Jesse who lives in Austin along with his fiance Alex and a grand daughter.I have 10 grand children who live in New Mexico and Kentucky.
I have been blessed beyond anything I ever deserved. I have been in Recovery for 24 years, "sober". I am involved in AA and love my experience there. I was given back a love for life and was allowed to grow up and put behind me some difficult circumstances from my child hood and adult life as a alcoholic. God has remained faithful to me even when I dared HIM to love me. I worship with my wife Claudia in a great church and we are blessed with good friends and a community of believers that are alive with loving God and their community. i should be dead or in prison but by the grace of a loving God I get to love life with fun and dignity.
I still love baseball about as much as life !!! (my poor wife)....we travel around New Mexico hunting pretty rocks, we camp and fish and love this beautiful earth we have !! I have been blessed beyond measure and I today I cherish my life and live daily giving Thanks......... I look forward to my 50 year HS reunion, seeing many of you I hope, as you and baseball were my sanctuary during a troubled childhood. Sincerely Ron
