Ron's Story

I was born in the old Tinker Air Force Base hospital on June 12, 1956. I claim Midwest City, Oklahoma as my hometown. Some of the schools I attended include Westside Elementary, Jarman Jr. High, Midwest City High School, Oscar Rose Jr. College (Rose State College), and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. I am employed by the United Urban Indian Council, Inc., a non-profit serving the American Indian community of Oklahoma County. I serve on the Native American Heritage Celebration committee and Completing the Circle planning committee, volunteer for the Norman Music Festival, and along with my wife, Diana, serve as co-presidents of the board of directors and as a host family for Friends to International Students at O.U., which is connected to the College of International Studies. Diana and I have been married since April 19, 1980. We have four sons and six grandchildren, four boys and two girls. We live in Norman, Oklahoma, where life is always go...Expand for more
od. At the end of the day people may not remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel. The Dalai Lama "It's never too late to be who you might have been" When I was 16 my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to be around him. Now that I am 25, I am impressed with how much he has learned. €Life's disappointments are harder to take when you don't know any swear words.€ - Calvin and Hobbes You may not end up where you thought you'd be,but you always end up where you're meant to be "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,...it's about learning to dance in the rain!" Things do not change; we change. Henry David Thoreau Everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time. Steven Wright Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. Albert Einstein Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy. Benjamin Franklin".
