Ron's Story
Life
Marilyn and I are still married (56years) and have two sons and 9 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. Started working for Vancouver Plywood in Grants Pass in 1963. The company has gone through many changes over the years and is now called U.S. Forest Industries Inc. I worked for the organization 34 years. The last 20 years as the manager of sales.
Marilyn and I moved to Phoenix Az after I left U.S. Forest to be close to our children and grandchildren.
Life has been good, we enjoy Arizona and spend a lot of our time in Mexico. It seems to be a very relaxing atmosphere that has grown on both of us. Most times we spend along the coastal areas. We love the beautiful beaches and outstanding sunsets.
We spent last winter in San Felipe exploring miles and miles of beach in our sandrail.
We are back in Phoenix now helping our sons in their work and home remodeling. Marilyn is in the escrow business as a branch manager. She enjoys her work very much and I find fun jobs here and there.
I have found that the company I worked for all those years is now out of business. A sad day for the Grants Pass Area.
UP DATE, September 2006--Both our sons now have successful companies and Marilyn's escrow branch has grown to be double it's original size. As for me, I'm still retired and functioning as a great house husband. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, hunting, boating and in OUR spare time we continue to travel to Mexico and other fun places in our RV.

nd we moved to San Felipe on the Baja. We still have our home in Phoenix and travel there from time to time.
July 31, 2009
We have been here in San Felipe for 16 months and love it. What a great place to live. A very slow relaxing atmosphere and the local people are so nice.
August, 2012, still in San Felipe and loving it. Have 5 dogs, one cat and 10 parakeets. We love our pets, they keep us busy.
March 18, 2016. Still in San Felipe and still loving it. Now have 9 dogs, I kitty, 4 parakeets and 1 Macaw that loves to talk. Life has been so good to us, we are so thankful for our blessings. January 13/2021 Still in San Felipe most of the time, traveling to and from our home in Phoenix AZ to keep up on medical as necessary and to visit our two sons and families. We have added another dog to our family so now have 10. We purchased a piece of property bordering our property so our dogs have more room to run and play. We have a young couple living in a large fifth wheel trailer on our property with a (so cute) young daughter who take care of our dog family when we leave. We are involved with The San Felipe Dog Rescue organization as much as we can and find it so rewarding in helping the animals in need. I was thinking today about being retired for 24 years and Married to Marilyn for 57 years. We count our blessings everyday.
