Ron's Story

Wow....are we really Senior Citizens? Time is flying by. Here are some of the milestones that I have experienced: 1966 - San Joaquin Delta College; 1968 - Joined Army Reserves (for 6 years), did Basic Training at Fort Polk, Louisiana; OJT Training in Supply at Fort Hood Texas; departed the Army Reserves with rank of Staff Sergeant E-6; 1970 - Enrolled at University of the Pacific and graduated in 1972; 1973 - Employed with the City of Stockton in the Employment and Training Department; 1980 - Hired to be Assistant to the City Manager of the City of Stockton, promoted to Principal Administrative Analyst; 2003 - Retired from the City of Stockton after 30 years; 1973 - Met wife-to-be Marti from upstate New York (BA from SUNY Potsdam, MBA from Sac State)...Expand for more
and currently a Bank Executive; 1988 - Married Marti in Carmel, CA; 1997 to Present - Built our home in Morada on one-and-a-half acres with 4 llamas, 2 basset hounds, and 4 cats, and still reside there; 2011 - Had quadruple heart by-pass surgery (a life changing experience). So, after all these years the phrase "Life is too short" carries much more meaning. We enjoy vacations in Hawaii and have purchased a condo in Maui, and also vacation in Palm Springs. We have also invested in 2 restaurants. On the downside, all of my injuries playing sports in my younger years are now magnified, with bad knees, bad ankle, bad wrist from a fracture, and lots of aches and pains. Trying and hoping to stay active is now a new mantra. Let's take nothing for granted!
