Ronald's Story

After HS, I finished getting my Engineering degree at Purdue Calumet. Due to getting a draft lottery number of 22, I ended up joining the Navy. First I was just going to be an electronics technician, but shortly decided to become an officer. Ended up on two nuclear submarines, getting out in Nov 1977. Married Patricia Ann Houle in 1973. Have two children, Becky and Ben once we got out. Lived then in Houston, TX, where surprisingly I got "saved". Left there in 1987 for Chattanooga, TN, where I started my career as a contract engineer preparing mechanical modifications for nuclear power plants, all over central to east USA. Retired May 31, 2018. Kind of late, but pays off on SS "benefits". Our son Ben has 4 sons of his own, and is married to Holly for 19 years now. Pat and I have been married 45 years so far. Becky is on #3,...Expand for more
probably won't have any children. Ben is in knoxville, and Becky is in Seattle. Pat and I like to travel and camp, but haven't done much of that lately, due to building our retirement home. Just about done. On 25 acres on the Cumberland Plateau. Still visit TX to maintain our property there, but will eventually sell it. My brother Paul would like to keep it to hunt for feral hogs, of which there are PLENTY there. Pat and I are in good health, but my knees are shot. I am stalling as long as possible for knee replacement. We visit Paul in IN often, and also Pat's folks in RI and MA. We met when I was in the Navy. Not sure who if anybody will read this, but apparently classmates.com doesn't want me to leave my email address so that you can contact me directly... I am busy as anything still, and figure that I like it that way.
