Ronald's Story
Life
I enlisted in the Navy after graduation and graduated from Bootcamp in Dec., 1976. Spent four years on board the U.S.S. Nimitz stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia. Made three Med cruises, two to the Indian Ocean, and one North Atlantic cruise. Reenlisted for 2 more years and spent them in Jacksonville, Fla. at NAS CECIL FIELD. Met my wife Louise, and have been married for 31 years as of August 2013. Have five children ages 28,(Kevin, currently serving in the Navy), 24 Kyle, 21 Veronica, 17 Michelle, 13 Joyce. Currently reside in Powersite, Mo. just outside of Branson so if you ever get this way let me know.

Went to bootcamp in Orlando, Florida. Was stationed as ships company on board the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Nimitz for 4 years. Started out in the weapons department with the elevator shop (moved weapons from the magazines to the hangar bay to the flight deck. After about a year I transfered to the hangar deck crew and maintained the weapons racks and skids for transfering weapons. Became qualified to handle nuclear ordinance. Spent final year as part of the flight deck crew loading weapons on aircraft. Took part in the failed rescue attempt of the Iranian hostages in 1979. Reenlisted for 2 years and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida at N.A.S. Cecil Field until 1982.
