Ronald's Story

Life Well lets see, after leaving Morton I attended the U of South Dakota for 1 yr and then transfered to the U of Evansville where I received my BS degree with a major in accounting in 1973. I worked for a private accounting firm for about 9 months and then went to work for U.S. Customs Service in Chicago in 1974 as an accountant. I became the accounting branch chief in 1981 until 1985 when they abolished my job. I then became a Special Agent for Customs in the Chicago office until I transfered to the Reno, NV office in 1987. I worked criminal cases in Reno until 1997 when I was promoted to the Resident Agent in Charge for the Reno Office. Worked on the "Mustang Ranch" case and had to monitor their books the last year they were in operation. In Oct of 2002 I was transfered to Washington, DC where I worked on asset forfeitures. In March of 2003 Customs was moved to the Dept of Homeland Security and the agents were assigned to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). On February 28, 2005, I retired from the Federal government after almost 31 years of service and returned to m...Expand for more

I have two step granddaughters from my daughter who are 22 & 19, two grandsons from my daughter, Garrett, born 6/5/2000, and Eli, born 1/5/2008 and two grandson from my son, Ashton, born 12/2/2010 and Jaxon 10/23/2015. I stay in contact with some of the classmates from Morton, Ron Eatinger, Joe Balka, Gig Anderson, Linda Sorbello, Ed Fergson, Kathy Bocken, Ron Johnson and few others. After being retired for 10 months and having done some PI work, I decided to go back to work as an Special Agent in the Investigations Division for the Nevada Gaming Control Board. As an Agent for the NGCB, I conduct background investigations on all applications who wish to be licensed to own or operate a gaming establishment or who want to make or distribute gaming equipment in the state of Nevada. These investigations take us to all parts of the country and of the world to ensure that applicates have clean backgrounds and not associated with any illegal activities.
