Life
RONALD HART
Ron enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and spent most of his four-year enlistment flying as a crewman in patrol planes throughout the Pacific. After his discharge from the Navy, Ron went to work for Boeing in Seattle, Washington. He worked nights and went to school for 6 years to get an engineering degree from the University of Washington. Most of his career at Boeing was in flight test, and he worked on the certification of the 707 jets as well as the 727s.
In 1962, while on assignment for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, he met and married Sally. Ron left Boeing and went to work for Lockheed in Atlanta on the C-130H test program and the design of the C-5A. He transferred to Southern California in 1969 for the C-5A flight test program at Edwards Air F...Expand for more
orce Base.
In 1971 when the C-5A program was completed he transferred to Burbank, California to work on the L-1011 program. After the L-1011 was certified, Ron went to work for the Air Force in civil service at Edwards AFB. After over 20 years at Edwards AFB he retired in 1996 as Division Chief on the B-2 stealth bomber test program.
Along the way, he earned 2 Masters degrees and he and Sally raised two daughters, and they have 3 grandchildren. They have all immigrated to Oregon from California, so after 33+ years living in Southern California, Sally and Ron moved to Oregon in 2003 to be close to our family.
Sally and I reallly enjoyed being a part of the LWHS 2000 reunion, and looking forward to the next reunion.
Best regards to all my LWHS classmates!
