Ronald's Story
Hey guys, I just joined Classmates and for some reason I'm excited at the prospect of touching basis with some former Foresters.
Here's an update on what's been going on in my life the last few years (Few . . .that's a bit of a stretch)
As some of you know, when at Forest Park I was in all of the bands. Marching band, stage band, Concert band.
Music was my life. As it turns out my love for music had a major impact on my life after High school. I took private sax lessons at the Peabody institute. After graduating from school, I worked in a factory for a few years until I was offered a position as guitarist and band director for a local band (First Class.) They offered to match my income at the factory.
As you can imagine, it was not a difficult decision to leave the factory. I grew as a musician and as a person as a result. We traveled to Montreal and Toronto Canada, The US Virgin Islands, Europe, the North & South Carolina. and many other places across the US. We opened up for major acts such as Marvin Gaye, The Spinners, Ohio Players.

bsolutely amazing experience!
The impending death of my Dad, made my think about the life style that I was living on the road. I decided to make a change and yield to a "still small voice" that was calling me. I quit the band, worked sales for a while, decided I needed to go back to school in order to get a good job. I worked in the Printing industry for a while until I lost my position due to downsizing. Through what I believe was a providential turn of events, I ended up as a high school teacher. Shortly after beginning my teaching career, I married the woman who was my former lyricist my co-writer.
We now have 8 Grandchildren who are precious. I have now been teaching for 22 years, I am looking forward to retirement. This economy is so bad, I've taken steps to ensure that things are lined up to do that comfortably.
I am the proud owner of (count them) THREE business. I refused to let the economy determine the level of comfort when I decided to leave the job. Well . . . I doubt if anybody will actually read all of this but, it's been nice sharing.
