Rory Helzer:  

The Perple Top Hat Entertainment Co. Biography For more than 30 years the Dancing Security guy has been in Law Enforcement and Security and crossed his work with entertainment. Rory has entertained at Universal Studios Orlando since 2004 and has been entertaining between Florida and New Mexico since 1975. Rory is known as an entertainer Icon and is world famous for his unique brand of street entertainment. They say superstars are known by one name and the name they shout in Central Florida is Rory! Rory Helzer was born (September 1959) He started his endeavors in the world of law enforcement in 1974 in Seminole county Florida. He was a member of an elite training program called the Youth deputies at the Seminole county Sheriff’s Dept. in Sanford Florida. He loved making a show of every event they were asked to attend. His favorite activity was traffic direction and parking and there was always a show! At the same time, he was involved with South Seminole middle school and Oviedo high school in drama and chorus and was taking Tap, jazz and ballet since the age of 9. He also sang opera with the Orlando opera company. In 1977 he had a short visit with the United States Marine Corps and after his release moved to Albuquerque New Mexico with family. In 1979 Rory went to work for a chain of nightclubs Graham central stations, Denim and Diamonds, Cactus Moon, and Cowboy’s. It was here he began to develop he first stage persona known as the Bushwacker! Here is where he excelled in entertainment as a disc jockey and dancer. In 1980 he became the Rodeo Cowboy’s favorite disc jockey to visit and the #1 fan favorite in the southwest. In the southwest Bushwacker became the first LIVE nightclub Disc jockey to be supported by the recording industry. MCA, RCA, Warner Bros, Arista all supported Bushwacker’s talent by sending all their latest promo records for his attention. MCA and RCA regularly brought up and coming talent to the clubs where Bushwacker was working. Super artists such as Alabama, Johnny Lee, Crystal Gayle, Sylvia, and more would drop in for unannounced visits when Bushwacker was working. It was here that the attitude and idea was born that everywhere you find him; you will find fun and a party! In 1986 he moved away from the world of entertainment (kind ‘a) and re-entered the world of law enforcement and high risk security.
