Rosa's Story
Life
Wow! my life bio, not sure too much of it is noteworthy but here is my life story. Let's see most will remember me as Rosa Linda Oglesby from school up until my senior year. This is when I met and believe it or not fell in love with the man of my dreams Kevin Henshaw and we married before I graduated. This prompted me to change my last name to his on everything including school records, after that I became known as Rosa Linda (Oglesby) Henshaw. After 20 wonderful years and very much happiness we are still married so some dreams do last. At least mine has so far.
I have 2 kids, both boys. One is from a prior relationship...needless to say I wasn't always miss goody good and I had my oldest Richard when I was 17 and just a junior in high school, I never let that stop me though. Even though I made one of the worst decisions of my life I made the best out of it and I worked my hardest to finish high school and I graduated. Even though I had a child and was married by the time I graduated high school I made it. After high school I attended technical school in Jacksonville and Fort Myers, FL and obtained several certifications in both healthcare and business. I have worked for several companies but for the last 8 years I have been with the School District of Lee County, where I am currently a Support Specialist managing the budget for a federal grant.
My youngest son I had after I finished school in Jacksonville, he was the planned one. Both of my children are the apple of my eye though and I love them both with all of my heart and I have spent the better part of my life just being mom and trying to make sure life was grea...Expand for more
t for them and of course the rest of us. I don't think my boys know the lengths I have gone too, just to make sure things can be better for them than they were for me. That is my goal in life for them, not to have it as hard and not to make those crazy mistakes I made. I have talked hours upon hours to each of my boys about everything that happened to me and how they can avoid all the mistakes. So far We are doing great. My oldest graduated in 2004 from North Fort Myers High School and my youngest in slated to graduate in 07 from my alma matta Riverdale High School.
Of course I won't say life has been easy street or anything and that I haven't had my problems, who hasn't? Right? I have had a couple car accidents that have caused some health concerns and some financial strains, which in turn caused us to sell our home but we are working our way back up again. Life is a funny cycle sometimes you never know what it might throw at you, but I can tell you this through all of it I have found that we have as a couple found a way to survive it all and we are still together and that tells me it was meant to be. No 2 people could go through so much turmoil, separate and come back together again to be stronger than ever and find that it was not meant to be. I know in the deepest part of my soul we (Kevin and I) were meant to be together forever.
That's about it for me, nothing to extraordinary. I am pretty down to earth after all. I like to exercise, shop, swim, do crafts and I collect winnie the pooh memorabillia pretty boring stuff really. I am happy though at that is what counts.
