Rosalind's Story
Hello!. My name is Rosalind Duncan Wallace. I grew up on Riopelle Street near the Highland Park water tower, on Davison and Dequindre. I came from a large family, 7 sisters and 2 brothers and "Yes", I'm a preacher daughter. My father was Assistant Pastor at Galilee Baptist Church. We didn't grow up with a lot of money, new clothes or a new car. As a matter of fact, I didn't even get a car until I was 21 years old. My parents was strict, however we were raised properly, we ate good (lots of beans, corn bread, red Kool-aid and greens) and most importantly, we were happy and we are still a close family. unior High, Pershing High School and then went on to graduate from Wayne State University with a Degree in Human Resources. I have a wonderful job and have went on to accomplish goals that I never dreamed possible. I didn't know it then but as I look back over my life, I'm so blessed to have had such a wonderful childhood, great parents, a loving family, a great career in Human Resources and God's favor. No matter where we come from, what little we had, anything and everything is possible. I encourage each of you to dream big, work hard, trust in God! You'll never know where your life's rewards will take you, the sky is the only limit you have. This is a picture of me in late, 2015. A lot different from big hair in June, 1972
