Rosanna's Story

I Graduated Walter L. Cohen in 1975! I still live in New Orleans. There's not a Hurricane with any name that can run me off! I have 3 daughters & 3 step-children. I am a proud grandmother of 13 grand-children including a set of twin girls. I also have 2 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way. My husband and I love going to the Movies during summer block buster season. I love 2 shop, listen 2 music, and an occasional quite evening. Right now I'm a very busy woman, I am a secretary and it keeps me on my toes. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1MILLION of it to New Orleans' homeless , then spend 1 million on Africa's hungry, then see to it that my grand-children get a good education, and spend the rest on me! My husband and I are very busy people who have a lot on our plates now. He has opened a boxing gym to try to get some of our young people off the streets, and participate in something productive. It is located on Erato St. We have lots of space and I am hoping next year to be able to start something geared towards empowering our young ladies and teaching them just that, how to BE a lady. With Gods blessing I am hoping this will be so successful that when word get out the girls will be anxious to attend. Since the storm there is a lack of recreational facilities around for these young boys and girls to attend. We run a recycling center located at M.L.King and So. Claiborne Ave. in the heart of central city and we continue to give back to the community . I have gotten in touch with three of my friends from school lately and I really enjoyed going "back down memory lane". I am always glad when I run into any of my classmates around the city. It's wonderful when I see them doing well. I'm hoping to be in contact more of my school mates through this site and find out if our school is having any functions coming up in the near future.
