Rose's Story
Life
I was raised a military kid born in a one room house in Lewisburg, Kentucky. I lived in France and Germany as a child. I married Dennis Cooper and then divorced after 7 years. Then married a Marine and lived in Okinawa, California, Virginia and N.C.
In 1980 I took a test to be an Apprentice to be an Aircraft Mechanic. Subsequently I was an Apprentice Instructor, the first woman Supervisor on the Aircraft Line and retired as the Program Manager of the Harrier Aircraft at Cherry Point, NC. I was widowed Jan 21. 1999.
Bruce and I married on Valentines Day Feb 15, 2003. We started a new life here in Huntsville, AL and we love it here. Life is so good and we are so blessed.
I have two children and two grandchildren. They live in Virginia Beach VA and Kalamazoo, Michigan so I don't see them often. My family lives in Kentucky and Tennessee and we enjoy weekends in Kentucky in our vacation cottage. Bruce's family lives in Florida and southern Alabama. We are in the perfect location to visit everyone.
I also have friends in Asheville who I call my adopted NC parents.
I have three sisters and a brother. Bruce has two sisters and three brothers. My mother passed away on Labor Day 2008 from cancer. My dad is also deceased but my wonderful step father is still living in Lewisburg, KY so we see him often. My sister Shirley reti...Expand for more
red from real estate in Virginia and moved to Lewisburg where she has opened a great business. She has a coffee and cigarette store, a bait store, a thrift store and an antique shop all in one big building. She is remodeling the back to make a Zumba Studio. She will never slow down. On the other hand I am enjoying being retired and just playing every day.
We love to travel and Bruce often has to travel with his job. He is an Aerospace Engineer working for the Army. He has to work until I quit shopping (fat chance). We love the little theater and have both been in some plays. I enjoy sewing, reading Danielle Steele and True Crime, Court TV, decorating, shopping in Thrift stores and Yard Sale, entertaining, sightseeing, gambling, racquetball, golf, playing bridge and enjoying friends. I am a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and enjoy all the fun of being a Red Hat Queen. We love the Lord and are members of Crosspoint Church in Madison.
My oldest friend is Tony Bruni. He was my first love in the 8th grade. We still keep in touch and have shared each others lives throughout the years.
One memory of my younger days that I will never forget is the Hoot-n-nanny at Ft. Campbell HS where I sang A Thousand Stars and the Prom whete I sang Cherry Pink and Apple Blossum White and Graduation Day. Johnny Mosely acdompanied me on the piano.
