Ted's Story
Life
I married Rose Ann Hewitt of Junction City, OH on 7 July 1979. We have three children: Ryan of Lancaster, Ohio, an industrrial electrician, ; Captain Denise Covert, of San Antonio, TX, a BSN, and Staff Sergeant Holly Covert, who just re-enlisted in the Air Force. I have two other daughters, Jennifer, of Nelsonville, OH and Josie of Virginia. This year, Rose Ann and I will have been married 32 years. I retired from active duty Air Force on 1 Feb 2004 as a Lieutenant Colonel, with 30 years service. We live on ten acres just outside New Lexington, Ohio in Perry County.
School:
I graduated from the welding program at Tri-County JVS in Nelsonville, OH as a certified welder in 1971. After four years active duty I attended and graduated from Muskingum Technical College, in Zanesville, OH (A.A.Police Science) in 1977. Workplace
I had my first job on January 19th, 1969 (my 16th birthday) at Milky's Gas Station in Buchtel, Ohio, after school and weekends for 60 cents an hour for about nine months, then, I worked for the next 18 months at Jerry's Gulf Station in Nelsonville, OH for $1.90 cents an hour. In May of 1971, I entered active duty Air Force and never looked back. Today, I am a retired active duty Lieutenant Colonel and also retired from federal civil service.
Military:
I retired a Lieutenant Colonel from active duty on 1 February 2004, after 30 years service. It is too difficult to outline where I have been and what I have done over a 30 year career, but my wife can just about tell you everything which has occurred over the last 59 years. She is the official historian of Ted S. Covert.
We have a total of six grandchildren and two Weimaraners, which makes eight, LOL.
