Rosie's Story
Hi my name is Rose, AKA Rosie. My last name then was Rosado. I was born in New York City, Bronx and lived in San Pedro CA. and sometimes New York. I would have graduated from San Pedro High in 1972. I had 6 months to go to graduate but I decided to quit which was something I have always regretted. I decided to get married instead. I didn't need to get married but I wanted to. I was living in a foster home at the time I thought I was in love and I wanted to live on my own, so when I was asked to get married I accepted. Being in a foster home gave me a heart for foster children, so that is what motivated me to work for the state helping children and mentally challenged young adults for 14 years. The work was very tough but also very rewarding. I am retired now and sometimes miss it but I am now enjoying life with my wonderful husband. I am married to a wonderful loving Christian Man, this May it will be 13 years. I have three grown beautiful daughters who have blessed me with 8 fantastic grandchildren. ng a personal relationship with Jesus by a dear friend during my teens name Cardie Hicks. She and her family were so nice to me, I remember how they welcomed me into their home and how comfortable I felt with them all every time I went to their house. I didn't completely understand the true meaning of having a personal relationship with Jesus until much later on in life. But Cardie planted the seed, and I will always cherish her for that and the memories I have of being her friend. My family moved back and forth from CA to New York, so I lost touch with many of my friends. I did go to Dana Junior High School also, and I remember a teacher name Mrs. Newberry who was very helpful to me at time that I needed help. I have a lot of hobbies, such as painting, making things out of clay, sewing, I love music and yes I still love to dance! Love to travel and I enjoy my life and spending time with my family and with our three adorable Boston terrier's. I am blessed and look forward to what ever it is that God directs me to do with the rest of this life for his Glory.
