Rose's Story
Life
I became a widow on 6/25/07. Don and I were together since 1975, but got married in 1986. His family is from Minnesota, so that's why I'm living here, otherwise, I'd most likely be somewhere in Colorado.
I have 3 daughters, Kim (36),Tonya (35), and Dannielle (31). Danni lives here in Minnesota, Kim lives in Massena, NY, and Tonya lives in Virginia.
RE: Story idea #8.
I would never have left Frank.
RE: Story idea #9.
I worked as a chicken de-boner. It was a place called Blue Star Foods in Omaha, NE. I had to stand for 8 hours at a counter that had 3 conveyor belts. The middle one was going to the right, and the other 2 were going to the left. The top one was for the bones that we separated the boiled chicken from. The middle one was the boiled chicken that was in pieces, and we had to separate the meat from the bones. The bottom belt was for the chicken that we pulled off the bones. The place had poor lighting, and the stench from the boiled chicken was overpowering. I was 2 1/2 months pregnant at the time I started this job. Between the stench, the standing in one place, and the conveyor belts going in opposite directions, I got quite nauseus. I had to quit, but I stuck it out for 2 weeks.
I write poetry, make my own greeting cards, and also make my own necklaces, using mostly crystal, ceramic, and seed beads. I still like rock music, but now also like country, emo, Indie, soft-rock, and even some Juggallo(who would believe it?). My favorite reality sho...Expand for more
w is "Extreme Home Makeover," but I also love "House," "Prison Break," "CSI," "Hells Kitchen," "Kitchen Disasters," and I know I watch too much TV.
I just recently started writing poetry! Never knew I had it in me, but I have gotten some really good feedback. A lot of it is on the 'dark' side, but the majority of things I write are from my own life experiences, or what I'm feeling at the time I write.
I recently connected with a former high school friend from Denver, thanks to Classmates. We've been emailing frequently, and it's nice to know that she's still with her first true love. Update: 12/28/06. She recently told me that her husband died this month.
I grew up in northern New York State until I was 14, then moved to Denver. I've also lived in PA, IA, NE, TX, and WA, and now MN, but I still think of Denver as "home" and probably always will. I have many cherished memories of my life there. I also left the love of my life behind there, unfortunately, but that's many regrets ago.
I used to work in a half-way house for chemically dependent women as a "house mother"/technician/intake secretary. I loved that job, but due to disabilities, am unable to work any longer. I had a variety of other jobs before that.
Don't know if anyone will recognize me from my "before" photo, but yes, I certainly have changed since then. Oh, to be young and "cute" again. Haaaaaa.
Hope to hear from someone I once knew......especially from one "someone" I once knew.
"Hugs"
