Rose's Story
Update September, 2018: after 21 years in Matthews Beach, we moved to Brier Washington. Lovely little city of 2.07 square miles and its own laws. It's a wonderful community and we now have room to build Walter's dream workshop! And we are still just a short drive to see our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
Happy to say I retired after 32+ in the same job effective June 10, 2015. Seems like I've never been busier somehow! Am enjoying more time with my family, especially my grandchildren, and with friends. Life is good.
Update July, 2012
Largely the same, except my son and his girl, who were married August, 2008, have now given me a second grandchild! Being a grandmother is STILL the very best thing in the world!
As of July, 2008, still in Seattle.
I am still living with the same great guy, Walter - we celebrated our 21 year anniversary on Valentine's day, 2008. I've never married, but as one friend of mine who was married 2 years says - Walt and I are more married than she eve...Expand for more
r was.
Walt is a member of the Seattle Seafair Pirates and was elected Captain for this Summer's Seafair season. He'll be the guy dressed in red sitting on top of the Moby Duck in parades, unless he asks a prior Captain to sit in for him. Being involved with this group is a constant social whirl!
My son is now 25 years old, and is a great guy with the PERFECT girl - I adore her. James went back to college after having dropped out for a while, and was on the Dean's List at the UW ever since. He just graduated in June cum laud, found a great job, and became engaged. I am so very proud of both the kids, and am so looking forward to the wedding.
I've worked at the same law firm as a paralegal since 1983, in the field of disability law. It's very rewarding and we can see the difference we make in people's lives. In this field, you can form long term relationships and friendships with folks and I've been to a number of client graduations and weddings.
So - life is good, and I hope yours is too!
