Rose's Story

After graduation I joined the Army. I was stationed at Fort Rucker Alabama and that is where I met my husband. We married in 1979 and we had a daughter in 1980. We got order to go to Germany in 1981. We stayed in Germany close to 5 years. After my tour was up, I got out and my husband stayed in. After our tour in Germany we got orders for Fort Riley, Kansas. We've been here ever since. and I'm still working for the government on Fort Riley as a civilian. When I retire from the government we are going to move somewhere back east, closer to S.C. Our daughter is grown now and is married. She graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science. She is continuing with her education and wants to get her masters to become a social worker. She had no children and her husband is a manager for Wal-Mart.
