Rosie's Story
Life
Hi everyone. I have two wonderful daughters (now 23 and 25), both graduated Ramona Convent secondary school in Alhambra. My oldest graduated from CSU Long Beach; my youngest graduated from The Aveda Institute beauty school, took her state exam and passed with flying colors. She walked out with her California State License. Her dream is to become a makeup artist in the fashion industry. she's actually very good and been doing it for years on the side. I became a grandma for the first time in April '09. WOW is he a cutie! As for me, i went to Harrison, then Belvedere for 1-1/2 years, transferred to El Sereno Jr. High, then on to Wilson. Didnt we have some of the best football games ever!!?? I've been with the Gas Company over 32 years (God willing I'm eligible to retire in 2014 WOOHOO! but with the economy in its current state, we will see what happens). Still living in L.A. Would be nice to hear from dear "OLD" friends :) i love spending time with family and friends, listening to country, 70s 80s music and jazz. have been winetasting up in paso robles and santa barbara, los olivos, santa ynez - gosh is it beautiful country up there, the drive,...Expand for more
the scenery. Whenever i drive past Arroyo Seco Park, off the Pasadena freeway, I remember we had a few school parties there. That was fun. I remember the dances. My very first one as a 10th grader. wow, and i was asked by a senior (class of 72) to dance. thought I was so cool lol. we dated a bit, but at 15, i did not know how to have a boyfriend lol. so it didnt last. but he was a nice guy. turned out his oldest sister was my Camp Fire Girl leader when I was at Harrison!! small small world. went to my very first concert with him, Chicago, at the Great Western Forum. wow... memories! i was so in love with Rod Stewart!! omg. and i love Pink Floyd, America, who else??? didnt marry until later in life, and i have to thank my EX (thank you Frank LOL) for our two beautiful, healthy girls (thank God); after 14 yrs. we divorced, but my ex and I are friendly. he continued helping his girls out with their higher education until they graduated. I noticed that the older i get, the more i like to reminisce! is that normal? lol (speaking of reminiscing - Grand Funk Railroad is playing on the radio!) Lots of sweet memories. Go Wilson! Yay class of '74!
