Rowland's Story
:
Went to college and played both baseball & basketball.......Got a degree from Florida International University.
Got a chance to play professional baseball / drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1974 & signed with the Baltimore Oriole's in 1977. / after my baseball career : I worked in Corporate America for a few years.. That was enough for me to know I wanted to do something else.
I made a decision to get back into baseball & worked in professional baseball for the last 25 years. I worked for : The Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins, Detroit...Expand for more
Tigers & retired from the Philadelphia Phillies in 2021
I married Diane Senderling (a Pennsauken girl) in 1979. We have had a good life together &: have now moved to Pittsburgh to be Grand mom and Grand pop - as we are both fully retired.
I feel that Pennsauken (both the Township and the High School) did a very good job of preparing me for the roads that i eventually traveled.
The school system (especially the teachers and coaches)............to all of the sports programs that PYAA provided = I always felt prepared to handle the "stuff" that life presented.
