Roxanne Kleemann:

CLASS OF 1968
Hacienda heights, CA

Roxanne's Story

After H S, I went to work for the phone co., and then as a secretary for various firms; stock brokers, insurance adjusters and sales, Max Factor, McDonnell Aircraft, and finally, land developers--two of them. I sure did put the skills I learned in Mrs. Woodhall's business classes to good use. In between those jobs, I met my husband, Bill. We married in 1974 and, in 1977, our first child, Kelli, was born. Kimi followed in 1979, the same year that I became a Christian. After the birth of my first child, I took a break from the office and stayed home for 13 years. In 1983, our little family moved from a quiet California desert community (Californica City) to a tropical paradise and ITT develpment some 3 thousand miles away called Palm Coast, FL. Time was spent socializing with new friends, aerobics classes, co-teaching a women's Bible study, taking the kids to the swim club or the beach, leading a Brownie Troop for Kelli and a Daisy Troop for Kimi. Then, exactly 1 year after moving to our shangri-la, my husband suffered a cerebral hemhorrage resulting from an AVM. It was then that I learned what it was to have real faith in my Lord. Since Bill was the only recorded survivor of an AVM affected in the brain, the Univ of Florida studied him for 5 years. Anyway, many miracles as well as happy years and sad times followed, and God's grace brought us through. In 1989 I went back to work and then in 1995 I became very lonesome for my family and we moved back here to Calif. I got a job in ...Expand for more
human resources with the school district here in Hacienda Heights. It was so funny, because I kept running in to our classmates, principals and teachers--even Mr. Harkins! It was great fun. I worked there until last summer when I retired. Now, I spend my time traveling to and from Tennessee where Kimi and husband, Mike, and two of my grandsons live, and visiting with Kelli and husband, Jason, and playing with my grandson and new granddaughter who live here locally. I take care of Mom, and Bill and I are trying to get Mom's old place cleared out and ready for sale. Bill also works for the school district. I enjoy traveling with my best friend, Beth, who also happens to be my son-in-law's Mother. My favorite trips so far have been Alaska and New York, but we'll see after we do San Francisco and the wine, country! In school my best friends were Nora Dalen, Carols Carmichael and Hernandez, Lynne Dobson, Debbie White, Cindy Cirillo and Barbara Paul. We used to go to the Diamond Horseshoe and hang out with the Abdo-men and Passion Sundae. You may remember me as Greg's little sister, a short blonde with long hair and big boobs, and as a crazy Beatles fan who associated with other fans like Sue Riley, Pat Geller and Deena Petts (there were others, but in the upper classes). I was also boy crazy. Yep, I was all of those, and I'm totally glad. I was blessed to live here and go through school with you all. We had a good, wholesome and secure life here. It would be good to hear from you.
