Roxanne's Story
As everyone knew, I got pregnant when I was 15. I was a sophmore. I had a girl. After coming back to school after she was born my education was short lived. I had to drop out for lack of chilcare while attending class. It was devasting that I couldn't graduate with my classmates. In 1993, I got my GED and finished top 5 in my class in Henderson Ky. I got married in 1993 and it was a flop. I worked all the time and did the party thing after my divorce 3 years almost to the day of marriage. I came out of that with my second child. Not much to say that was to good about my life until 1999. I met the most wonderful man. In October 2000, we married. job for the past 10 years. I retired from mowing and landscaping in October of 2010, my stepson is now workng in my place and I work for US Bank. I turned 43 in March, my husband and I have 8 children (all grown) and 9 grandchildren. He is 53 years old and was a graduate of OCHS. Our last child graduated in June of this year at DCHS. I have raised children since I was 15 years old and he has since he was 18. We now plan on knowing and spending a lot more time with each and doing whatever we want to. It has been a hard life, but i hung in there. I am happily married and most all days we still act like we are newlyweds. we act young and work very hard. I wouldn't change my life now if I could, because it made me strong,determined, and who I am now, which is nothing like I was in school.
