Rev Roy's Story
Life
Immediately after HS I started installing and selling carpet. Went into professional music performing all around Buffalo in the better clubs and dining spots.
In a few years I began to sell pianos and organs for most of the stores in Buffalo. Studied with a few of the old craftsmen in piano tuning and repair. Became the downtown store manager for Denton, Cottier and Daniels, as the Convention Center came, that store closed. I then managed the W.S.store. Also worked at Keppler Music and performed musically, including radio, TV and recording. Also have taught privately and owned a few music stores of my own.
Got involved in ministry in my late 30's. I did seminary studies, then pastored two churches in the Buffalo area. At the same time I began a ministry "HEALING HEART MINISTRIES" to work with widowed, divorced and never married singles. I have taken many courses in counseling both secular and Christian.
I have worked with Child Evangelism Fellowsip a ministry to children ...Expand for more
and their families, as well as the singles ministry when I moved to Ohio thirteen years ago.
Presently I have one son of my own from my first marriage. with two grandchildren. Four step children from my second marriage, with 4 more grandchildren. After 10 years of marriage my wife decided she no longer wanted to be married to a Pastor/Counselor. We were separated for several years before having the marriage disolved in the state of OHIO!
In the past years I have had to deal with serious health issues, but have placed them in God's hands and continue on with my life. Doctors prefer that I sit home, but I just can't do that! The busier I stay the better I feel.
I have relocated to Mansfield Ohio, I still frequent Buffalo as I do ministry work there as well as piano work. My piano business actually takes me to many areas through out the north east. I am planning on re-locating back to BUffalo in the near future.
It would be a joy to hear from any of you from the "Class of '65"
