Roy's Story
Life
I became a member of the reunion committee by a phone call, late one snowy night. I was never in the military so I never learned not to volunteer for anything. I suggested & agreed to use the internet to verify & look for missing members of the class of 1960 ( North Syracuse HS). Many people on the committee do not have a computer, or are very challenged to use it very much, or they were in the military. So I joined classmates.com ($40.00), to be able to communicate with the missing through their e-mail. & thus became the reunion contact. Remember I was not in the military, and I am a phone invited member of this reunion committee with no duties assigned, - and I did it again. So you people are wanting to know who I am. Well, I have posted a picture of myself in a group of people, thanks to Margaret ( Suzy ) King Brown from PA to whom I conversed with through classmates. COM. I was born in Jamestown, NY, moved to Mattydale - Hinsdale Rd. when two, moved to Pitcher Hill - Bailey Rd. when four, moved to Tyler, Texas when 17 1/2. I went to the Lawrence Rd. School, Pitcher Hill Elementary, Watson Bldg., Old HS in split sessions, and the New High school on Fay Rd. moved in the middle of our Senior year. A...Expand for more

When you are retired - you still work. There is always something broke, something needs to be done, and the volunteer work ( no Military) Yes, we volunteer weekly to NAMOW, North Area Meals on Wheels. There are three class members who are there the same day that we are there. Eileen Timmerman Englehart, Carol Stevens Jennings and Anita Walker, Ralph WalkerÂs wife. Carol has the responsibility to get it all together 5 days a week and make it happen for these very fine customers.
