Roy's Story

Well who would have thought that 45 years would have gone by so fast since that last day we all saw each other at graduation. After 2 years at KU, I got into the restaurant business. Howard Johnson's on the turnpike,The Sheraton Corporation in Shreveport and Baton Rouge,Holiday Inn, and 13 years with Concord Companies out of Lincoln, Ne. (Village Inns, Applebee's and Famous Dave's). I started my own company in Lincoln, A & A Vinyl, Inc. a fabricator for vinyl fences, railings, gazebos which lasted 5 years until hurricane Katrina destroyed the vinyl extruders in New Orleans. imagined. I am now home with my Dad, a young 90 year old who still looks 70, and enjoying his golden years. I have one daughter who has 2 children in Independence, Mo. and one son who has 6 children in Lees Summit, Mo. My sister works for AAFES and is the Area Loss Prevention Manager in the Beltway. I am officially retired but am in the process of getting refired for my second and most important childhood. In my graduation speech when I stated "Today the Hills and Tomorrow the Mountains" they (the teachers) forgot to prepare us for the other side of the mountain. I am excited and looking forward to the next 40 years. Looking forward to tomorrow, Roy
