Ruby's Story
I have been working as a public health advisor for about 22 years. As a public health advisor I have worked with state-based agencies and non-profit organizations to foster the delivery of comprehensive health and behavioral health care services.
I have engaged in work to increase access to health and behavioral health for vulnerable populations that include indigent families and individuals, people with disabilities, homeless populations, adolescents and transitional age youth.
Since 2006 I have engaged in collaborative work Federal agencies coordinate and provide collaboration among the VA and community-based providers in serving the behavioral health care needs of returning service members.

rganized mental health and substance abuse treatment services for individuals that were displaced as a result of hurricanes Rita and Katrina.
Currently serve on various Interagency Workgroups relating to Traumatic Brain Injury, and related to adolescents and transitional age youth.
I have two young adult children. My oldest daughter is an attorney and former graduate of the University of Cincinnati Law School. My youngest daughter is an accountant, and former graduate of the University of Marylandâs Smith School of Business. I hold an A.A degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Community Development from the University of Maryland, and a Master's Degree in Clinical Social work with a specialization in Mental Health Therapy from Howard University.
