Rudy's Story
Life after AHS:
Graduated 1970 from Cal State L.A.(B.A. Music - vocal performance), then moved back to Canada (where I had lived 1959-1962). Became elementary school teacher; taught 10 years, then resigned, took computer courses, and have been in computer field since then (programming, teaching computer courses, computer support). Married 30 years to Joanne, 2 kids - Emily 29, Glenn 26 (works for Google in Kitchener, Ontario). Live in rural setting 2 hours north of Toronto, Ontario. Hobbies: classical music, chorister & soloist, literature, motorcycling, yoga, chess and so on. Hennings was step-father's name. Back to my legal name, Hartmann. Retired from I.T. in 2007. Volunteer in my wife's grade 1 and 2 class, still sing in choirs, do lots of computer stuff I enjoy - creating DVDs from my video efforts, transfer old video to computer and edit, and create DVDs for friends, photography, etc..

her and Hungarian father. Moved to Australia in 1950; lived in asbestos mining town in outback (still have asbestos fibers in my lungs). Then some traumatic years in a catholic boarding school from 5 to 9 years of age. Ask me what I think of religion! Then to Perth, and then to Sydney. In 1959 moved to Canada (near Toronto). In 1962 moved to Louisiana, and after a month of that, went to Texas. 12 schools in 3 countries in 10 years. No wonder I'm a wreck! Several months after that, ended up in good old Alhambra, California. Most stable period of my entire life up to that point, ensued. Same high school for 4 years. Same college for 4 years. Gosh, I became almost normal! Married Judy (met in college) just before leaving the USA. But she had enough of me after a few years. And the rest is history, as they say.
Search for Rudy Hartmann on youtube and catch a few clips of me singing (if you can call it that!). Sorry, not pop or American Idol material.
