Jessie Rue's Story
What can I say? After graduation I was enjoy being 18 and enjoying summer until one day my mother suggested to me that maybe I should get a job. WOW. Get a job? The thought never occurred to me. So I did, making 90 cents an hour as a file clerk. Big time money. I was rolling in the dough for sure. Then I went to business school at Durhams's for two years and learned how to type really fast and accurately which helped me to pass the civil service exam and I went to work at Kelly AFB as a secretary. While at Kelly I met and married my first husband who was in the Air Force at the time but when he got got we moved to Chicago. Don't go there unless it is absolutely necessary. Too windy. Too Cold. It was during this union that I had my son, Keith. The joy of my life. Needless to say the marriage didn't work out. Or the next three for that matter. So, I've been married and now I'm not. I've worked lots of jobs from file clerk to oil field equipment expediter to statistical typist, which is the love job of my life. I love, love, love to type numbers or run a 10-key. And I'm good at it so that makes it more fun. Presently I am employed at Porter Loring Mortuaries as an executive administrative assistant. Good title, huh? My ...Expand for more
boss calls me the "office princess". (My 1st husband used to call me queenie but he didn't mean it in a nice way.) I also have a second job as evening receptionist at the San Antonio Country Club. I read alot at that job but there is other stuff to do, too, besides make reservations. I get to help publish the employee newsletter. And there is always "filing". You can never get away from some things.
For fun I like to get with friends from school (we have our gatherings every so often) and that's lots of fun, then I love to fish except that I don't get to do that much these days and I like to dance and I like BudLite. I like to eat and contrary to what this episle may lead you to believe I don't talk all that much. My friends that know me well think I'm funny but actually I'm just a smartalec and a sassy individual. Oh, yes, not to forget my grandchildren. I have two beautiful grandsons. Sylvan is 18 and Travis will be 14 in March. Sylvan went to Burbank. Travis lives in Estacada, OR. I live with my brother, Ed, in the house we grew up in on Hearne. Well, that pretty much gets us current. Hope you weren't too bored. Hey, you could always stop reading. Wishing all my friends a happy and fulfilling life. Love ya, jessierue
