Russ's Story
Life
Russ Finney is advisory partner and researcher for the itmWEB Group, a firm which focuses on advisory and research activities for mid to large sized companies, similar sized corporate divisions, and governmental agencies. He has also been occasionally serving as an Interim CIO or CTO for companies that are bridging an executive need, conducting a business turn-around, or building up their IT capabilities.
Russ is a well-known international high tech speaker and strategy consultant who is an affiliated partner of several of the major brand name consulting firms. He also served through itmWEB as the CIO of an advanced aerospace firm building 747, 777, and 787 VIP and Head-of-State aircraft.

ipment manufacturers supplying chip makers in Asia, Europe, and the US. During his time at TEL, the US division grew from a Japan financed rapid start-up into a collection of R&D, manufacturing, and service companies with over one billion in combined revenues. Worldwide TEL grew to over seven billion in yearly earnings.
In 2006, he was named Austin IT Executive of the Year by his peers at the annual InnoTech conference. Russ has served on the boards of the Austin Technology Council, the Austin Planetarium, and the National Board of Directors of AITP.
He was the 2008 and 2009 co-chair of the New York City based Outsource World conference - an annual gathering of worldwide IT leaders. Before TEL, he was an IT consultant for many years with Ernst & Young. He has a degree in Management Science and Computer Systems from Oklahoma State University.
