Woodshop and Ceramics, what they let us graduate with. RHHS was too much fun. Anyhow, you all know about that.
After RHHS it was off to Humboldt State and Journalism study for four years then wrote for a paper for a couple of years.
Reporting was exciting but gave that up for money and to start a business.
We hit on a good product and had a nice run. The business took me to Pennsylvania when we set up a second factory. While in Pennsylvania, I got involved in local politics and became mayor of a small rural town. That is where I got the nic name "Gov" (which is the "Gov" part of my website, GoGov.com).
After 14 years in Pennsylvania, we sold the business. I then set up the same factory in China under contract for another company. China was great. Worked hard. Played harder.
With China as a jumping off point, I spent quite a bit of time in Australia and traveled to Singapore, Thai...Expand for more
land, Japan and Honk Kong.
In China, I made some very, very good friends. And found my best freind there. Meina and I have been married for two years. I'm really lucky to have her.
As much as I enjoyed China, all good things come to an end. After seven years there, Meina and I moved to the U.S. and now live in Palm Springs.
I'm finding it quite easy getting along here in the desert (alright, so a few months are hot). Eight months out of the year the weather is great.
My business is now on the net and outsourcing jobs to China. GoGov.com continues as my hobby and I suppose my hand in journalism. I give it at least an hour each morning.
Looking back I wonder if I should have stayed with journalism and where that might have taken me. But it has been a good ride so far. Only thing really missing is to hear from you. If you read this far, hit the contact me button. I'd love to hear from you.
