Life
Not sure when it happened but I got old, had a child and started being more concerned about my daily fiber intake then the latest you-tube videos. I also came to the realization that Motley Crue was never going to ask me to take over for an aging Mick Mars so I somehow found myself in the supply chain field. Yep...from rockstar wanna-be to the exciting world of purchasing, logistics, warehousing, transportation, forecasting and all the fun stuff we never knew existed back in 1992. The song "1985" would have been funnier 10yrs ago!
I have a wonderful 3-year old son and a wife that I have been married to for 4yrs. She tolerates my sometimes heavy travel schedule, occassional drunk night out with my buddies that finds us back in my suburban garage cranking hair metal at 2am and my desire to play softball every week and complain about my knees for the next 2-days. My son still thinks I'm a "silly goose" so I'm enjoying the whole dad/husband thing...touch base with me when he realizes I'm not a "silly goose" and thinks I'm just a 30+ yr old dad that doesn't have a clue.
My son was born 3 months early. He was 2.5lbs. He spent 2 months at Children's hospital in the NICU and special care nursery. We are very blessed that he has no learning or physical disabilities. He was in...Expand for more
and out of the hospital a lot his first year due to a weakened immune system. Those days appear to be behind us now.
When I realized I wasn't going to be a rockstar I decided to go to school and am in the process of finishing a masters degree in International Business.
My career path has led me into supply chain management. Basically I'm responsible for all domestic and global procurement, transportation, production and warehousing. The positive is I get to travel overseas to meet with my manufaturers and suppliers and domestically to my warehouses. The downside is I'm visiting dirty 3rd world qualiy factories and hot & dirty warehouses. Although...I'm looking forward to my year-end inventory audits in Orlando and Phoenix this winter. lol.
Thats about it...no lake front house on Lake Minnetonka, corvette parked next to the Lexus SUV and BMW, maid-service, and winter home in San Diego but still can't complain with the normal house on a normal street, tricycle parked next to the Explorer and Accord, swiffer wet jet cleaning tools and an occassional trip to San Diego or somewhere warm to break the winter blues.
