Russell's Story
I graduated from LHS in 66, playing in the band and slacking off in school. I went to USL for a year, majoring in AFROTC. I then received an appointment to the Air Force Academy. Went to Viet Nam for the summer of 1970, and flew jets out of Bien Hoa. Graduated from the Academy in 1971 with a degree in Aero Engineering. Went to work at the Flight Test Center in CA working on the first generation of unmanned fighter aircraft. Got a scholarship to MIT and received Masters in 1978 in Aero/Astro. Worked on some missile projects then got tired of being in Mr. Carter's Air Force. Came back home to Lafayette and started a computer simulation company in Lafayette called Digitran. lorida. Met my second wife Sandy there and went back to the daily grind, joining CSC in Huntsville designing advanced weapons for the Army. Switched to the Consulting group in 1991 and moved to Dallas and then to Houston, where we have lived ever since down in Clear Lake. I have two daughters and six grandkids from my first marriage, and two teenage boys from my second. I also work for the Kemah Boardwalk on weekends, driving the Beast speedboat. Now in 2015, I have retired from consulting and started my own health supplement business. One son now works for the Houston Texans and the other is a junior at the Air Force Academy and will be stationed in Kuwait this summer. My wife Sandy manages trop Rock and C&W bands
