Ruth's Story
Well, time sure flies...it seems like just yesterday sometimes that we were back in high school or grade school for that matter.
A lot has happened in the last 20 years...from life's ups and downs there is certainly much to learn through each experience.
I'm very thankful for my wonderful parents and family. My parents instilled in me and my family a great love for God and eachother. They taught me how to have faith and not give up on it or eachother despite the downfalls in life. They were there for me not only through my years growing up but my teens, young adulthood and as an adult. In and out of relationships and friendships, through school, jobs etc...they were steady with their love, care and support.
Life changes you as you lose loved one's...many in my extended family yet 3 in my immediate family. Since high school I lost my dad in May of 1998 at age 56 due to his health. Last year, 2007 in March and November I lost my sister at age 43 and mom at age 67 due to health reasons also. Cancer...Expand for more
and Heart conditions are an awful thing to deal with.
Though they are a huge loss I know they are better now in Heaven with no more sicknesses. We miss them like crazy yet they remain in our hearts.
I have a wonderful husband, Mike...we first met at age 15 and 16 back in 1984 or 85 through his cousin, my best friend at the time. Didn't know much about eachother from 87-2004 when we reconnected, again through his cousin. What do you know we ended up marrying in 2005. I have a great stepson Mikey, 15, and we have my sister's daughter Chantelle, age 5. We look forward to having our own and hopefully it's soon.
I may not have my own yet but I have worked with children both in church and as a profession. In church since I was a teen and working with them since age 22. I currently work in the city of Orange running an after school tutoring program for students in grades 1-5 and I enjoy it very much.
I love spending time with my husband and Chantelle watching TV, going out to eat or see a movie.
