Ruth's Story

School Edgemont was the best school. I wish that my kids could go to a school like that. My best friend was Dyana Jones, and I laugh now because she still is. My favorite teacher was Mr. Smith I had him in 2nd and 4th grade. I loved him. Eastmont was fun, 4 years of Junior high, wow! I still keep in contact with a few friends from there that went to Alta. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Breen, English. Plus I had a lot of friends in that class, it was great. I still can't believe they took out the brown, yellow, and orange lockers! Jordan was the best. I am so glad I changed my mind and went there instead of Alta. I did enjoy running track for Alta my freshman year, playing indoor soccer with Alta, and basketball. I am so grateful for those experiences. I had great friends that went to Alta. I think my junior and senior year I was ther about as much time as I was at my own school..haha.We used to play volleyball after school everyday at a friends house down the road from Alta and that was a blast. Jordan had some great memories, senior girls gang, choir trips, yearbook staff, HOSA, DECA, FHA, cheerleading, basketball, seminary, and most of all the best graduating class ever 1993. I loved having my little brother Keith there my senior year. It was awesome!! I loved the graduation party Nanette Wallace and I had. It was awesome and then jumping on a plane and heading to Hawaii after with the girls. It was a blast. Thanks for the memories! College I went to Salt lake Community college for almost 2 years. Then I moved to Arizona. My father called it burning the candle at both ends. I had a class at 6 a.m. the came home took a shower went to work until 5. then I would go back to school until 10. Then as soon as I was done I would go dancing with the friends. I don't know how I survived???? I even got good grades, shock! But it was fun. I am returning to school in 1 year. I am going to go into social work and communication. I won't be working but mostly volunteer work. I have been volunteering for a few years now and I love it. I just wish I had more time and the knowledge. Workplace I laugh at this one. I ha...Expand for more
ven't officially worked for anyone in 13 years. I moved to Arizona and worked for an Opthamologist and I did contact lenses. I had my first baby and quit after he was 5 months old. I loved the money I made, hated to leave my baby. My husband said he didn't want me to work anyway and he was ok with whatever I decided, so I quit. I have owned my own business, Tasket Basket Company. I did gift baskets for huge Home builders. Loved it! Sold the business after 2 years. Which worked out great for me. My husband and I owned a business Castle Gate Construction and sold that about 1 year ago. Now, just bought a company out and renamed it La Sal Enterprises. Just barely. I am a bit nervous! I volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Our oldest Andrew has Type 1 diabetes. I really enjoy it. It is a lot of work with everything else I do, but I know it is for a good cause. 4 kids keep me pretty busy. That is the best job I can have!!! Hobbies My kids!! We like to go camping a lot. I love to travel with my husband. I finally got to take him to Scotland in May 06. We try to at least go on one big trip together a year with out children. Tim and I got into rappelling. We love it. The problem is now we get stuck doing the girls camp every year cause they know we do that and we love to camp. We have been doing for over 6 years now. I don't scrapbook at all...YUCK! I love to take photo's and take other family pictures all the time. I also love to take one that have a story! I love to take landscape pic.'s too. I love to blog with my friends. Whoever came up with that is brilliant! I can talk with and send pic's so much faster by doing my blog! Reading- I have read so many books that I probably couldn't count! I love all kinds of books. I think it better than watching TV. (which I rarely do) BUT..., I still love the movies. I worked in a movie theater when I was 16 and I still love them. Music- love it all! I am not a huge fan of rap, but if it has a great dancing beat, GREAT! Country... I really have to be in the mood. My husband is a huge country fan. I am still trying to convert him. Maybe one day.heehee
