Life I retired from teaching 30 straight years as an teacher for English Language learners and a bilingual teacher in October of 2004. My first retirement trip was to Viet Nam, Thailand and Korea. My husband and i were in Thailand the day of the Tsunami. In 2005, I accompanied some dear friends on a Mediterranean cruise for almost a month. We saw so many fantastic places but being on a ship that long, drove my husband and I a little bit stir crazy. In June, we left for the Maritime Provinces in Canada by motorcycle and ended up in Newfoundland as our farthest destination. Not many people venture to the the Island since it is accessible by ferry or plane only. The scenery is spectacular. We also spent April in British Columbia and Alberta plus the Rockies in the U.S. before taking off on the cruise. 2006 took us on a month's vacation to South America showcasing such places a Machupicchu in Peru, the lake district and the Andes in Chile, Iguacu Falls in Brasil and Argentina, Buenos Aires, Río de Janeiro with Sugar Loaf and Ipanema Beach and so much more.
