Life
My life in a nutshell:
After graduating from East High, I attended Heidelberg College and Ohio University, majoring in speech pathology. I directed a clinic in Chillocothe, Ohio, then moved to the northwest, and joined the faculty at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. I met my husband, Paul Olscamp, who was president of the university. My mom died in 1982. Paul then became president at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and I taught on the faculty there in Communication Disorders until 1993. We divorced, I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and lived for 3 years, finishing my Ph.D from Bowling Green in communication. Then moved to Toronto and worked as the communication rep for an oil company. From there, to Houston for a year. Then, Paul and I got back together and moved to Bellingham where we both taught. We re-married in 2002, then built our house and ...Expand for more
moved to beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where Paul's son Adam practices orthopedic surgery and lives with two of our grandchildren. His daughter and other two grandkids lives in Denver. I am currently Executive Director of the Public Library Foundation here, raising money to build a new library, for which we'll break ground next spring. I sing with a big band (see photo) regularly, and am involved in lots of fun and creative activities in the community. Our home overlooks the lake, and wew live there with a cat named Spice and our Bichon Frise dog named "Spud". We have a summer home in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where a branch of Paul's family lives, and spend August and September on the east coast in this little farm house on the water. Life has been great--I am so fortunate to have wonderful friends, family and lots of stimulating activity keeping me young (at least on the inside!)
