Ruth's Story
Life
I graduated with an AA from Judson Baptist College in Portland, OR, then from Seatlle Pacific University with a BA in philosophy. I attended University of Iowa in the Ph.D program in philosophy, but quit after a year, because secular philosophers have nothing of any importance to say, and it was pointless to continue. I worked in Olpymia at Byview Marketplace (now Bayview Thriftway) for a couple of years, until finding a graduate program with more guts to it. We have four children, Aaron, age 17, Amalia, 14, Sarah, 12, and Rachel, 7. I began homeshooling from the beginning, and currently home teach my three daughters. My son attends Leesburg Christian school.
My husband John, a man of many talents, graduated from South Seattle Community College in French cuisine. He currently owns a heating and air conditioning business in Sterling, VA. He specializes in indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
I have found the pace of life to be much faster here. The intolerance and bigotry towards conservatives is less obvious here than in Olympia, though.
