Ruth's Story
I have been there and done a lot of that. I am happy and regretful. I am always surprised when people from school remember me. I was not popular and all of my social activity was outside of School and with people older than myself. I went to 4 different highshools. Granda, Livermore, Skyline (in Oakland for a semester) and finally to Del Valle where I felt like, at last, I fit in somewhere.
I remember feeling so excited about life. But just as often I remember some of the choices I made, and think - why would you do that Ruth? I never answer myself out loud, so that is a positive.

ther for most of our lives. I think it may have been meant to be, as we were all together to support each other through the death of both of our parents. I have enjoyed getting to really know my sisters again.
I have no children but I am Aunt Ruthie to somewhere near 20 nieces and nephews - all living in this area - and that makes for one hell of a Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I left San Luis Obispo in 1994 after my 2nd husband passed and I miss the beejaggers out of California and my beautiful left coast. But I am enjoying my life. It could be more, it sure could be less and I am grateful.. I am becoming anxious to get back to the pacific coast and most likely settle in Portland.
Leaving my family here will be so very hard to do... and I haven't left yet.
