Ruthi's Story

I am a divorced mother of two children 25 and 20. I recently moved from my house in Pennsylvania to a small apartment in Maryland closer to my office. My 20 yers old daughter is with me. I work for a rehab equipment company where we specialize in custom wheelchairs. I volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and run thier equipment loan closet. ntil his death in 200l. At that point, I was left with my step mother and his home in Hamilton. We sold the house and moved to Pennsylvania where shortly afterwards my step mother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. She lived for six years with chemo and radiation. Again, we were able to keep her home until her death in 2007. Then this year my son, Erik who graduated from Calvert Hall in 2001 decided to go out on his own leaving me with a 4 bedroom house. So my daughter and I moved to Cockeysville. We are adjusting to apartment living. My life is good I have wonderful supportive friends.
