Sally's Story
Life
Since graduation I married, had 3 children. I lived in Illinois till 1979. We moved to Arkansas to get rid of 12ft. snowdrifts. Living in Arkansas was quite an education to go from how yankees live to hillbillys. It was a good time to raise my children here as the rise of drugs in schools was a problem up north.
I had a child born with Spina Bifida. She was a challenge as a child. So I tried home farming. First Chinchilla's and then hogs.
By 1994 I quit all farming. The next 5 years I spent traveling with my husband with his job. He is a construction inspector for rural water systems. I saw a lot of Arkansas.
In 2000 my disabled daughter spent 6 months in the hospital and I am now caring for her once...Expand for more
again. So God chose for me to care for her rather than caring for animals.
I have a new home in Newton County Arkansas. All of my children have been married. I have 2 adopted grandchildren, and 5 natural grandchildren. They keep me busy.
With my family here I will grow old here amongst the trees and the hummingbirds. But I will always remember New York and the years of growing up there. I miss going to Lake Ontario on picnics. Before caring for Denise I learned to scuba dive. That was quite an experience. I love to swim even at this old age.
I just finished a course in cake decorating. This was just for my own purpose with all the parties I have for the family. The nearest cake decorating is 30 miles away.
